Notice of Changes
In February, Google introduced Deep Research in Gemini, a feature that allows you to quickly explore complex topics and summarize vast amounts of research in minutes. At this Google I/O event, the following improvements to this feature were announced:
-
Deep Research can now use the 2.5 Flash experimental model.
Meanwhile, Gemini Advanced users can continue to use the 2.5 Pro (experimental) model, which is Google’s most intelligent reasoning model. -
You can directly upload PDF and image files to use public information and user-provided information together in Deep Research reports.
Documents in Google Drive can also be linked. -
Gemini recommends related resources within the report to encourage further learning.
Examples: interactive charts, planning simulators, and in-depth analysis of related topics. -
You can directly import generated Deep Research reports into Canvas to modify and supplement them, and then export them to Google Docs for collaboration.
